Course 8 — Commissioning and Performance Testing

This Level 3 course is for installers and service engineers who start up air-to-water heat pumps and prove they work. It assumes you already know the refrigeration cycle and basic hydronic piping. After this course you will be able to:

• Run a full pre-commissioning check and a safe first start-up.
• Place test instruments correctly and take reliable site readings.
• Calculate actual heating capacity and COP from temperature, flow and power readings.
• Measure superheat and subcooling, read a factory test report, and hand the system over properly.
