Pool heat pumps with a titanium exchanger

Applies a titanium heat exchanger and heat pump technology to move heat from the surroundings into pool water. Especially suitable for commercial swimming pools, spas and physiotherapy pools that have to hold temperature all year.

Is this the right range for you?

Two minutes here saves a wasted quotation. The boundaries below are the published ones, not sales judgement.

Yes, if all of these are true

  • A pool, spa, jacuzzi or therapy pool
  • You want it held at temperature rather than heated occasionally
  • Water up to about 45 °C is enough
  • You are heating with electricity, diesel or gas today

Key features

What is inside the cabinet, and why each of them is there.

Titanium tube in PVC-shell heat exchanger

Chlorinated water destroys ordinary exchangers. Titanium is the only material that survives it indefinitely, and it is why a pool machine costs more than a hot water machine of the same capacity.

American Copeland / Panasonic scroll compressor

Heating in winter, cooling in summer

Optional. In much of India the summer problem is a pool that is too warm to be refreshing.

Available in the EVI range for cold climates

Intelligent defrosting

Optional.

Smart touch control and WiFi

WiFi optional. MODBUS for building management systems.

Benefits

What this range does for the building, rather than what is in the box.

The exchanger outlasts the pool

Titanium resists pool-chemical corrosion, which is the single largest cause of early failure in pool heating.

A cover is worth more than a bigger machine

Evaporation is over half the loss on most pools. Our calculator shows exactly what a cover saves you in rupees.

Energy saving with WiFi and MODBUS

Schedule around the tariff, and let the building system see the plant.

What a cover actually saves

Evaporation is normally over half the total loss from an outdoor pool — more than convection and radiation together. A cover cuts evaporation to about 5 % while it is on, and convection and radiation to about 35 %. On most pools that is the single biggest saving available, and it costs a fraction of a bigger machine. The calculator puts your own number on it.

Size your pool in about a minute

Set the length, width and depth, tell it indoors or outdoors, covered or open, and it returns the heat-up load and the holding load separately, the model that covers both, and what a cover is worth.

Built to order

Options on this range, quoted per order. None of them is the standard build and none is included in the model table above — ask at enquiry and have it confirmed on the order acknowledgement.

  • Water connection — Coupling type to suit the site — threaded, flanged or grooved.
  • Casing — Stainless steel or powder-coated finish.
  • Circulation pump — Can be built into the unit instead of being fitted in the plant room.

And what every Sunniva heat pump gives you

True of the whole range, not just this one.

  • Up to 75 % off water heating against electric, LPG or PNG
  • Quick payback and strong return on investment
  • The longest product life of any common water-heating technology
  • Silent operation
  • Hot water round the year, independent of sunlight
  • Lower carbon emissions
  • Negligible maintenance cost
  • Saves space against a boiler or a solar-thermal field

Common questions

The ones our engineers are actually asked.

Indoor or outdoor — does it change the machine?
Considerably. An outdoor pool radiates to a night sky roughly 8 K colder than the air and loses far more than an indoor one at the same water temperature. The calculator models both properly rather than applying a flat factor.
How long to heat the pool from cold?
That is your choice, and it sizes the machine. The calculator separates heat-up from holding: heating a pool in 24 hours needs roughly twice the machine that 48 hours needs, while the holding load is the same either way.
Will it work through a north Indian winter?
The SE-SP range is published down to 10 °C ambient. Below that, the EVI range covers pool duty to −25 °C. The calculator flags the crossover rather than extrapolating past the published data.
Does it need a separate filter pump?
Yes. The heat pump goes downstream of the filter and upstream of the chlorine dosing, so it never sees undiluted chemical. Every SE-SP datasheet carries that schematic.
