Rated figures
- Heating capacity, input power, COP and hot water output are the rated figures on the Sunniva data sheet. The sheet does not name the ambient and water temperatures they were measured at, so they are published as rated values. Ask us before sizing to a cold-weather duty.
- Derived: full-tank time is the tank volume divided by the rated hot water output.
Installation requirement
- Dedicated single-phase supply: 40 A × 2-pole MCB and 3-core × 4 mm² copper cable, as the data sheet specifies.
- Fit the pressure relief valve supplied and pipe its discharge to a drain.
- The unit takes its heat from the air round it — give the top section free air in and out.
Site installation schematic

- 1Air in. The fan draws outdoor-temperature air across the evaporator, where the refrigerant boils and takes heat from it.
- 2Compressor. The compressor raises the refrigerant vapour to a high temperature.
- 3Heat into the water. The micro-channel condenser is wrapped round the outside of the tank under the insulation. It gives its heat to the water through the tank wall, so refrigerant never touches the water.
- 4Cooled air out. The air leaves cooler than it came in. Do not duct it back to the intake.
- 5Water in and out. Cold water enters low in the tank and hot water is drawn from the top, so the hottest water is always at the outlet.
- 6Electric back-up. The 2.5 kW element in the tank covers a cold morning or a full house, and can take the tank to 75 °C.
Schematic — not to scale; connection positions vary by model.
Choosing a size
Size on the people and the draw-offThis model
| Hot water per person per day | 40–60 L |
| Suits | about 7–10 people |
| Full tank at the rated output | ≈ 3.6 h on the heat pump |
| Keeps up with | ≈ 118 L/h of draw-off |
Why all in one
- One unit, one water connection, one power connection — no separate cylinder, pump or interconnecting pipe to design.
- The condenser sits outside the tank wall, so a refrigerant leak cannot reach the water.
- The 2.5 kW heater covers a cold morning or a full house, and takes the tank to 75 °C when wanted.

* Derived: tank volume divided by the rated hot water output. SE-AH-6-350 and SE-AH-6-420 are the same heat pump on two tank sizes, which is why their capacity and output match.
Installation steps
Follow in order — fill the tank before switching on- Stand the unit on a level floor that takes 627 kg filled, with clear air round the top section.
- Connect the cold inlet through a stop valve and non-return valve; fit the relief valve supplied on the hot side and pipe its discharge to a drain.
- Connect the hot outlet to the taps, and run the condensate and tank drain to a drain point.
- Fill the tank completely and open a hot tap until water runs without air — never power the unit with the tank empty: the heater will burn out.
- Have a licensed electrician run a dedicated supply on a 40 A × 2-pole MCB with 3-core × 4 mm² copper cable, earthed.
- Switch on, set the water temperature on the remote display, and check for leaks once the tank is hot.
Site checklist
What has to be true before the unit arrivesSite
| Floor | Level, and takes ≈ 627 kg filled (207 kg unit + 420 L water) |
| Space | 735 × 1006 × 1720 mm, plus room round the air inlet and outlet and to service the anode and heater |
| Air | Free air to the intake and away from the outlet. A room smaller than a garage or utility area will cool down |
| Supply | Dedicated 220–240 V single-phase: 40 A × 2-pole MCB, 3-core × 4 mm² copper cable |
| Water | Mains or tank feed at no more than 0.8 MPa; fit a pressure-reducing valve above that |
| Drain | For the relief valve discharge, the condensate and the tank drain |
