The Inventory cum QC Manager will be responsible for accurate inventory control, quality checking of incoming raw materials and finished goods, and ensuring material readiness for next day’s production.
Key responsibilities
Manage overall inventory of raw materials, consumables, WIP, and finished goods in the factory store.
Receive, verify, and record all incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.
Conduct quality checks on incoming raw materials (mechanical, electrical, refrigeration items) as per specifications and approved samples.
Segregate and label accepted and rejected materials; coordinate with purchase/suppliers for replacement of rejected items.
Ensure proper storage, binning, and identification of all items with part codes, locations, and stock levels.
Maintain minimum/maximum stock levels and highlight shortages or slow/non-moving items in advance to purchase and production.
Plan and issue materials to production as per daily/weekly material requisitions and production plan.
Prepare and keep materials ready in crates/trolleys for the next day’s production (kit-wise or model-wise) so that assembly teams can start work without delay.
Inspect finished goods as per QC checklist and test reports before accepting into finished goods store.
Ensure correct labeling, packing, and documentation of finished goods for dispatch.
Carry out daily cycle counting and monthly/quarterly physical stock-taking; investigate and resolve stock variances.
Maintain all inventory and QC records in ERP/Excel (GRN, issue slips, rejection notes, test reports, stock registers).
Implement 5S and good housekeeping practices in stores, inspection area, and finished goods warehouse.
Coordinate closely with production, purchase, accounts, and logistics to ensure smooth material flow and timely dispatches.
Required qualifications
Graduate / Diploma (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial preferred) or Commerce graduate with strong inventory background.
1-2 years’ experience in inventory control / storekeeping, with exposure to QC of engineering materials; experience in HVAC/heat pump/refrigeration industry is an added advantage.
Working knowledge of ERP (e.g., Odoo) and MS Excel for stock records and reporting.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical QC parameters (visual checks, measurements, certificates, basic tests).
Key skills and competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counts, documentation, and labeling.
Good coordination skills with production, purchase, and suppliers.
Discipline in following processes, FIFO, and traceability.
Ability to organize material, plan ahead for next day’s production, and work under time pressure.
